Step into The Fringe District and feel the relaxed, welcoming vibe. Whether you’re here to meet friends, try something new, or simply explore, our community is ready to embrace you.

Community Hubs That Bring Us Together

At the heart of our neighbourhood are places where people connect and collaborate. The Gribblehirst Community Hub is a buzzing shared space, while venues like the Rocky Nook Bowls Club, and the Auckland Irish Society host events, workshops, and activities that bring our community together. Our three local churches – Trinity Methodist Church Hall, Edge Kingsland, and Morningside Church of Christ – are pillars of support and connection, offering spaces where people can come together for worship, reflection, and community events.

At the heart of any vibrant community, you’ll find a school. The Fringe District has several primary, intermediate and secondary schools, with multi-cultural units and immersive classroom environments.

You’ll find some awesome green spaces here too, to enjoy with friends and family, or for some quiet solitude in the middle of the city. These include Nixon Park, School Reserve, Alsco Pocket Park, and Morningside Reserve.

Interested in sustainability? There’s a local eco group, Kingsland Eco Neighbours.
