We are governed by the Rules of our Incorporated Society – under the incorporated societies act 1908, and in accordance with Auckland Councils BID Policy. Kingsland Business Society Incorporated is our legal name. We also represent Eden Park and Morningside, and to be inclusive of all, we choose to use the brand The Fringe District.
We have a volunteer board who are either business owners, and/or landlords in The Fringe District. They meet Tuesdays every 6-8 weeks, with our Local Albert-Eden Board representative, Liv Roe to deliver direction, and advice to our Management Team to establish, develop and deliver ideas that create a thriving community, and town centre by driving destination marketing, visibility, events, connection and community strategically targeting increased local economic benefits and outcomes for our wonderful destination, The Fringe District.
Together, with input from members, we also advocate strongly for best outcomes with stakeholders and agencies such as Auckland Transport, Auckland Council, Kiwi Rail, Albert-Eden Local Board, Eden Park, Auckland Unlimited on events and projects that may change the dynamic, positively impact, and/or may also disrupt our destination, so we can ensure our balanced voice is heard and our businesses remain open so our so that people from all walks, ages and stages of life can continue to enjoy our destination.
